Itinerary
Your desert adventure towards the beautiful sand dunes of Merzouga starts early in the morning. At 7 am you will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech and your desert journey can begin. We cross the High Atlas Mountains and discover a number of old kasbahs and Berber villages. After a three-hour drive we reach the ancient kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After a fascinating visit to Aït Ben Haddou, and a well-prepared lunch, we continue to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa. In Ouarzazate we visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas studios where numerous blockbusters and popular series, including Game of Thrones, were recorded. Then we continue our journey towards Skoura and the Rose Valley. At the end of the day we spend the night in the Dades Valley.
After a delicious traditional breakfast, we continue our three-day Moroccan desert journey to Merzouga. After a drive along the route of a thousand kasbahs, we pass picturesque Berber villages. After a short drive, we reach Tinghir, a 15-kilometer-long breathtaking valley full of date palms. We drive along impressive gorges and high canyons. In Tinjdad, we enjoy a delicious lunch before arriving at the famous sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. From the back of a camel, we indulge this impressive scenery. We enjoy an unforgettable sunset on one of the beautiful dunes, on the way to an oasis where our tent camp is located. Once arrived at the nomad camp, we are spoiled with an extensive dinner. The desert guides provide an entertaining evening program full of traditional music. Spend the night in your own private tent in the nomad camp or under a beautiful starry sky.
On the last day of our desert adventure, you will experience a fantastic sunrise in the morning over the golden sand dunes. After breakfast, we leave the Sahara and visit Rissani, home of the Alaouite dynasty, and the oasis of Tazarine. After an excellent lunch, we continue our journey to Marrakech, where we arrive in the evening.
