Tailored Accommodation Choices for Your Moroccan Journey
We’d love to hear your preferences regarding accommodation before we create a personalized trip proposal for you. Morocco offers a diverse range of accommodations, from luxurious hotels and resorts to charming and authentic riads.
To truly elevate your experience, we recommend staying in at least these four types of accommodations during your journey:
1. Stay at a riad
A riad is a traditional Moroccan home or palace built around a central courtyard or garden, designed to provide privacy and tranquility. These architectural gems often feature intricate tilework, ornate wooden doors, and lush greenery, making them a perfect blend of authentic charm and comfort for guests.
Riads in Morocco come in a variety of styles and atmospheres, each offering a unique experience. Some riads are lavish, with luxurious decor, intricate mosaics, and expansive courtyards, often featuring pools and rooftop terraces for panoramic views. Others are more modest, focusing on simplicity and comfort with traditional Moroccan elements like carved wood, colorful ceramics, and plush textiles.
2. Stay at a kasbah
Staying at a kasbah offers a unique experience in a traditional fortified house or fortress, often located in rural areas or on the edge of the desert. These historic structures feature thick mud walls, grand courtyards, and panoramic views, providing a sense of adventure and a glimpse into Morocco’s rich cultural heritage.
3. Stay at a tent camp
Staying at a Moroccan tent camp offers a unique and immersive experience in the heart of the desert, where you sleep under a canopy of stars.
The variety of tent camps in Morocco ranges from basic, rustic setups to luxurious “glamping” experiences, each offering a unique way to experience the desert. Basic tent camps often feature simple, traditional Berber-style tents with minimal amenities, providing an authentic and back-to-nature experience.
On the other hand, luxury tent camps (glamping) offer a more opulent experience, with spacious, well-furnished tents, comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms, and even gourmet dining under the stars. Some camps also provide additional amenities like heated blankets, private terraces, and organized camel treks or entertainment, creating a blend of adventure and comfort. Whether you’re seeking a simple desert escape or a lavish stay in the dunes, Morocco’s tent camps cater to a variety of preferences.
4. Stay at a guesthouse with a local family
Staying at a guesthouse in Morocco offers an intimate and welcoming experience, where you can enjoy personalized hospitality in a cozy, home-like atmosphere. These small, locally-run accommodations often feature traditional Moroccan decor, providing a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture while enjoying homemade meals and authentic touches.
